Small summer Vaca

So my first "official" vacation for this year was Springfield, IL. I was surprised at how much there really is to do there. We spent our first day driving and then stopping in Bloomington to do a little antique shopping. Then off to Springfield. Thursday we got up super early and headed to town for a tour of Lincoln's home then his museum, old city capital, an antique shop and then finally his grave. We got all this done by 4pm, i for one was impressed. The second day we got up made it over to the Dana Thomas, Frank Loyde Wright home. That alone was breath taking. Man what i wouldn't give to incourperate some of Wright's ideas into my future house. Take forinstance the entry way. From the view you could see multiple levels of the house, from the third floor all the way to the basement, well done Wright, well done. After that we went to a small shop where i found these adorable earings and to this old hot dog stand where it was the "birth of the corndog" and OMG this thing was amazing. Then we went back in town to check out the downtown some more, tried to go to another museum that was closed and then back to the hotel to rest up and then back in town later for a mexican meal and downtown pictures. The last day we saw Lincoln's New Salam which was wet and misqueto city....had dad running for the hills.

so alas vacation is over but i get to go reenacting in around three weeks so i'm looking forward to that i suppose (can't wait!)
