Pride and Prejudice

The other day i went to a regency ball. It was one of the most eventfull things i've done in a long time. The event was in lancing and prier to the ball we (heidi, jj and myself) had been working nonstop to finish jj's clothings. Heidi had also been making another dress for herself and let me borrow her old beautiful blue dress. We took off at 2pm day of to get to the workshop that was at 4pm. We got there a bit early and listened to disney music while sewing jj's clothes. JJ said it was one of thoes moments he'd never forget. We got into the ball room and as more and more people arrived we all gathered with a partner and started to learn these regency dances. The thing that excited me so much is many of them i remember watching on Pride and Prejudice. There's something about dancing like that, you have time to really watch your partner and connect. So many of the dances, though, were really fast and made for a good work out. Every time a dance ended you would curtsey to your partner and then find another partner. I met a couple really nice guys(gents). One was an amazing dancer, seemed like he knew what he was doing. He didn't talk much and nither did he look at me much(which this kind of dancing lends to much time to look at many people in the eyes.) The other guy i met was Ryan who was a really nice, down to earth guy. After the workshop we asked Ryan and the girl who we was with if they knew of a good place to stay because we had to get ready for the ball. So we found this place where the rooms were cheep and not actually that bad. I spent two hours doing my hair. I had so many curls to do it was amazing. The ball started at 8pm and we got there at 9pm. We missed the first set of dances, sad, and made it in time for the intermission. The next dances came about and i went out (after we'd all ready seen ryan and his gal pal) to make my self "available for a partner"(according to jj). Nope that didn't work so i started walking towards jj because hell if i can't get a partner i sure as hell can rely on the guy that brought us to this event. Well it worked and for the first dance i danced with jj, then ryan and after that its a little hazy which dance was with which person. We did do that line dance you see in P&P where they break into rows and walk up and then walk back down. I had so much fun that night. Heidi and i decided to sit out the last dance because my shoes decided to hate me. We were talking about many many things and the thing that came up was that the girl with the guy i danced with was actually his sister and not what i thought she was. We talked to ryan's sister and in the end ryan came over too. They were telling us about the civil war harvest ball that they also had there. Were going to try to meet up with ryan and his sis again before the ball and possibly at another regency ball. At the end heidi and i waited for 10 minutes for our escort to end his conversations. We went and got some food, brought it back to the hotel and we all crashed for about an hour before i dragged them both up and we got on the road at about 2am. We all had to work that day at firestone so it was important that not all three of us were absent from work. Heidi drove for about an hour, maybe less and i switched with her and drove the rest while they all slept. We got back at 4am, jj drove home and heidi and i stayed awake until 5am. I got 3 hours sleep and needless to say haven't been feeling so well. But it was all very very worth it!
